MANGALDAN – Huge prices here wait for singing enthusiasts who can best strut their musical prowess for this town’s 27th Ugnayan sa Pasko (Christmas get together) on December 26 this year.
“On its 27th year of harnessing and developing the amateur singing abilities of the people of Mangaldan and providing quality entertainment, it will follow three series of elimination rounds and the top three winners for each week will convene and compete during the final night on December 26, 2013,” stressed in the concept provided by the mayor’s office.
According to the guidelines, the eligibility requirements are 14 to 30 years old of age, male or female, single or married with good moral character, and at least one year resident here that is supported by barangay clearance.
The exclusion and disqualification are the following: 1)The Ugnayan committee reserves the right to disqualify contestants who are found to be misrepresenting themselves and/or not complying to the program’s thrusts and objectives, and the 2) Contestants who have existing recording contract with recording company are not qualified to join
The following dates and venues of the audition process would be on November 8, 2013 at Mangaldan National High School 2 pm to 5 pm, November 15, 2013 at David Elementary School 2pm to 5 pm, and November 22, 2013 at Mangaldan Municipal Hall 2 pm to 5 pm.
The dates of the contest process will be on December 6, 13, 26, 2013. The time will be at 8 pm and the venue will be at this town’s public plaza.
On each of the dates of December 6, 13, and 20, 2013 the top three winners will be chosen while December 26, 2013 will be the grand finals participated by nine contenders.
The guidelines stated that the criteria for the contest will be “Tonal quality, timing, and elocution – 60%; State presence, audience impact, and attire – 40%. The decision of the Board of Judges is final and executory.
The guidelines provided that the weekly prizes of the top three winners will be P1000.00 each while a consolation prize of P500.00 will be given to non-winners. The prizes for the grand finals on December 26 will be P10, 000.00 for the champion,P7,000.00 for the 2nd prize, and P5,000 for the 3rd prize while there is a consolation prize of P2000.00.
